There are 613 mitzvos, made out of 248 positive commandments and 365 negative commandments. Out of the 365 negative mitzvos only 194 can be done nowadays. These parallel the 365 sinews in the body and the 365 days of the solar year. This is coming to say to not sin every day of the year! Negative mitzvos are different from positive commandments in that they do not involve an action. Instead, the negative mitzvos only can be done when an opportunity arise when faced with transgressing them and then by overcoming the temptation one fulfil’s the mitzva.
